How we judge others will determine how we will be judged. If we really believe tha, then we have a method that can a guarantee merciful judgments toward us. When we judge others, we can try to focus on the good in them. We can have patience with their mistakes. We can seek to help them overcome their weaknesses. We can love them in spite of any possible faults we see.
If we judge others with humility and charity, we can expect to receive the same type of judgment from heaven.

God has said "Thou shalt not ... kill, nor do anything like unto it." Human life is sacred. Murdering an unborn baby only because one doesn't want to deal with the pregnancy or the child is not an exception to the commandment. There is no scriptural or prophetic allowance given to women who just don't feel like accepting the consequences of their actions. Even in cases of rape, incest, or personal health, the mother ought to be sure it is the Lord's will that the innocent child be killed, in spite of His commandment. What is heaven like? If one doesn't know the answer to this question, it is easy to see why they wouldn't be motivated to work toward getting there. Some think that in heaven we do nothing but sing praises to God for eternity. While there is merit in that thought, it isn't the full description. It is so much easier to pass off responsibility on to others, rather than being brutally honest with yourself. Those who consistently think they are never to blame are deceiving themselves. Science generally admits that it doesn't know the truth. On some things science feels it is pretty sure, but no one will go so far as to say they've discovered an absolute truth. What science discovers is facts. Science uses these facts to guess at truth. Then they try to disprove their guess by gathering more facts and seeing if their guess holds true. It's not a generally disputed principle that one person's good work can provide blessings for another. The good you do can help the progress of your family, friends, and the world, although they have to choose whether they will receive the blessings. Keeping to one's self, avoiding interactions, and ignoring the world around us are common personality traits. Some feel that by living this way, confrontation will be avoided. Others may be persuaded to feel that interpersonal interaction is unnecessary and a waste of time. Faith means putting our trust in God. But to what end are we trusting in Him? Some who have trusted in God have been delivered from harm, while others have suffered in cruel ways. What does God guarantee if we trust in Him? The Constitution of the United States is a statement of beliefs on moral issues. Laws are enacted based on interpretations of those moral standings. Though we can separate religious organizations from political organizations, we cannot separate the morals of politics from the morals of religion. While some would like to ground all legislation in science only, we cannot exclude morals from politics without ignoring the moral standings in the Constitution. On the surface it seems as though it would be easier to act if we had a pure knowledge of the consequences of every action. |
