It is so much easier to pass off responsibility on to others, rather than being brutally honest with yourself. Those who consistently think they are never to blame are deceiving themselves.
We should embrace responsibility for our actions when we make mistakes, even if we are only partially to blame. If we never admit our mistakes, how can we change for the better? Inasmuch as we refuse to be reconciled to our errors, to that extent we halt our own eternal progression. That is one reason why we must be worthy when we take the sacrament--otherwise we are making promises we don't intend to keep.
