Those called of God to preach are commanded to teach nothing but repentance. Yet we are taught not only to repent of our sins, but also to read the scriptures, to listen to modern day prophets, to serve our neighbors, to pray unceasingly, and so forth. If we are to teach repentance only, why are all the rest of the gospel topics regularly preached?
Those who do not accept scripture from God are rejecting His truths. Those who are not listening to modern day prophets are making a mistake. If we aren't serving our neighbors, how can we expect to obtain salvation? Without unceasing prayer, our hopes for eternal life are dim. In short, if we aren't living every gospel truth, we are in need of repentance. Teaching us to live according to these truths is preaching repentance indeed.
