We lived with God before we were born. We loved Him and wanted to become like He is--full of love, wisdom, and power for good. Our Father offered us all that He has, if we would learn to become like He is. We chose to come to earth to help us in this process. Here we can learn and grow. Away from the direct presence of our Father, our choices become more independent.
Our ultimate goal is to become like our Father and return to His presence to live with Him and gain our inheritance. Like our Father, we will want to continue to have children and help them find their way to happiness, for Joy is the meaning of Life.

The Lord requires us to conform to his laws. We are to keep his commandments--all of them. We are all expected to live in this way. With this high level of conformity as a requirement for all, where is the opportunity to be unique? Repeatedly the Lord commands us to be of good cheer. A cheerful countenance is developed from the inside out. The more we choose to live after the manner of happiness, the more our countenance reflects that internal joy. A cheerful countenance radiates to those around us, helping others share in that joy. When it comes to identifying the Lord's shepherds, the Lord has said "Ye shall know them by their fruits... A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit." Identifying the Lord's sheep can be more difficult. With so many sheep around--some from one flock and some from another--how can one find a sheep that's simply gone astray, or one that is trying to find his or her way into the Lord's flock? Part of John the Baptist's mission was to overthrow the kingdom of the Jews. But he never toppled the existing government. He was eventually killed by a civic leader, Herod. The Jewish and Roman leadership later combined to scourge and crucify the Savior. |
